‎'R1AA 2013: Amazing Milestone for the Province' - Torio

Lingayen --- “Mahirap pero naging makasaysayan ang hosting. The Governor was always there to help for the sake of youth not only in Pangasinan, but also for the Region.”
This was how Bartolome T. Teneza, Over-all Head of Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) Secretariat, described the joint hosting of the provincial government of Pangasinan and Department of Education (DepEd) - Schools Division of Pangasinan 1 of the 2013 R1AA Meet during the closing rites of the weeklong sports spectacle held at Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC), here.
Noting the province's hosting of last year's Palarong Pambansa and recently, the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) National Games, Teneza thanked the provincial government of Pangasinan, saying, “Kahit na tadtad na kayo dito sa Pangasinan sa paghohost, nakangiti pa rin.”
Teneza who represented DepEd Regional Director Teresita M. Velasco, expressed the regional director’s words of gratitude to all people who made the event successful, especially the teachers of the host division.
Elated over the event's success, Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. congratulated all the athletes, technical officials, teachers and organizers as he said: “In Pangasinan, priority po namin lagi ang mga bata."“For those who won, congratulations; and to those who lost, keep on trying next time at sana sa pag-uwi nyo, may maalala kayong magaganda dito sa Pangasinan," the Governor said.Further, the Governor reiterated the provincial government's top three priorities which include helping of the poor people through various poverty-alleviating programs, delivery of quality services and continuity of action programs for the betterment of the future generation.Schools Division Superintendent of Pangasinan 1 Alma Ruby C. Torio who was overflowing with gratitude to the co-host provincial government said “the conduct of the R1AA is an amazing milestone for the province and for the DepEd Pangasinan 1.”Participated in by some 6,000 elementary and secondary athletes and technical officials, Torio said “the event was not possible without the stakeholders and that words are not enough to thank all people who made the event a remarkable undertaking.”She even noted that DepEd Assistant Secretary Tonisito Umali who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker during the opening of R1AA was elated with the good efforts of the provincial government of Pangasinan led by Governor Amado T. Espino Jr. in promoting sports development among young Pangasinenses.“Sa dami ng mga nag-invite kay Asst. Sec. Umali, tayo sa Pangasinan ang pinagbigyan nya,” she added.
