Pag-IBIG Fund brings its services closer to members

by April M. Montes
DAGUPAN CITY, May 23 (PIA) – The Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund branch here conducts an off-site servicing to cater to loan borrowers who will avail of its multi-purpose loan (MPL) program.
Pag-IBIG Fund has been receiving MPL applications and distributing cash cards released by the Land Bank of the Philippines at the conference hall of Kalantiao Building, Capitol Compound in Lingayen town since May 21 to 23 at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Information Officer Annaliza Natavio said that the off-site servicing intends to reach out to busy members who can’t drop at the Pag-IBIG Fund’s office in Dagupan City to process their applications or to get their cash cards.
“Especially that it’s the peak season, there’s a long queue of loan borrowers waiting in the office as member-applicants have to finance the educational needs of their children as classes will open in June,” said Natavio.
But with services delivered closer to clients, the long queue of members who will apply for the MPL program for their related needs will be reduced, she remarked.
The MPL program is described as an “anti-depressed loan” where members could use proceeds of their loan to relieve stress from work by going on a vacation, shopping or even enrolling in a gym for workouts.
Sometimes referred to as “personal loan,” the MPL is one of two short-term loans available to Pag-IBIG Fund members as the need arises. The other one is the calamity loan.
The off-site servicing will also be held in various cities and municipalities in Central and Western parts of the province, said Natavio. (MCA/AMM/PIA-1, Pangasinan)
